Glare is minimized (complete reduction is possible using
IQMirror panel), Shadow detail is increased.
Pictures show Concept verification through actual
prototype (IQVizor on Video Camera). Feature OFF vs. ON:

vram@iqipgroup.com , IQRearViewMirror / IQDriverAssist, Patent.
Panel (IQRearViewMirror, IQDriverAssist) working shown
below. At full panel brightness, lab Input fed from Component video out from HD
Camcorder with IQVisor mounted. This pic was shot from another video
camera. Both setup with standard Auto-Exposure True images, comparing Lab setup
with feature OFF vs. ON.
Notes: This situation is similar to headlight glare from
the mirrors. The IQVizor, IQRearViewMirror, IQDriverAssist system take
out glare and enhances shadow detail. The wearer’s visibility is enhanced,
avoiding accidents due to eye fatigue.
IQDriverAssist (Front facing) / IQRearViewMirror (Rear
facing) On the Road Night time:
Feature Turned OFF
Feature Turned ON. Compare the Green circle with the Red
Circle above. IQVisor was mounted on an automatic exposure video camera, which
reacts much like the eye in opening its Iris.
Notes:
·
Same panel from previous comparison used.
·
These are shots 1/8th of a second apart gotten from a
video, showing moving vehicles and the masks applied on them using IQVizor.
·
Vehicles were moving in that 1/8th of the second, hence
the moved headlights and motorist.
·
The road or buildings were not lit by any other light source, to
show enhancement to brightness. Above the left headlight, there is a green
swatch which brightened along with the background above the pair of car
headlights.
IQVizor, IQDriverAssist, V2. Real time Fog / Smoke
removal and detail enhancement.
Available in Panel mode. Ski goggles being
prototyped.
Notes:
·
This is IQVizor v2, which removes Fog, Smoke.
·
The system removes a narrow band of brightness while enhancing the
rest, such as a bandpass brightness filter. It is real time as well.
·
Fog is a ‘single’ band of brightness (or exposure value, like the
feedback tone in audio) and is very hard to simulate using smoke in the lab
given resources. This Comparison is Feature ON vs. OFF on device with Video input
fed from from a computer monitor displaying this image.
